‘Saraki’s brother’ abducted in Kogi

According to the Nations Newspaper ,There were concerns on Friday in Lokoja, Kogi State, over the reported abduction of a brother to the Senate president, Bukola Saraki.
A police source said  that the unnamed brother of the Senate president was kidnapped at Irepeni, close to Kabba Junction, Adavi local government area of Kogi State.

Ronke Shonde buried amid tears


The ex-banker, Mrs. Ronke Shonde, who was allegedly killed by her husband, was interred at the Atan cemetery, Yaba, on Friday.
People, wailed uncontrollably while her corpse was being lowered into the grave.
The deceased’s body was conveyed to the cemetery in a hired hearse which left the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) morgue at about 2:00pm.
The burial which was kept secret, It was witnessed by only close family members and friends of the deceased.

No missing Chibok girl has been found, it is a scam – Asari Dokubo


Leader of the defunct Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Front, NDPVF, Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo on Friday insisted that reports claiming some Chibok girls were rescued was not true.
The former Niger Delta warlord, who took to his Facebook Page to express his doubt, insisted that no schoolgirl was kidnapped from Chibok and that the news of girls being rescued is a scam and propaganda.

Egypt finds human remains and belongings from plane crash at sea


 Egypt said on Friday its navy had found human remains, wreckage and the personal belongings of passengers floating in the Mediterranean, confirmation that an EgyptAir jet had plunged into the sea with 66 people on board.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi offered condolences for those on board, amounting to Egypt's official acknowledgement of their deaths, although there was still no explanation of why the Airbus had crashed.

Court sentences former NIMASA DG, Omatseye to five years imprisonment

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has sentenced a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Mr. Raymond Omatseye, to five years in prison for a N1.5bn contract scam.
The former DG was arraigned on a 27-count charge of alleged bid rigging and contract splitting worth over N1.5m by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Ronke Shonde: I didn't kill my wife, Shonde husband tells court

The man, Lekan Shone, who allegedly killed his wife, Ronke in Lagos state, has appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in the state.
Lekan was arraigned on a one-count charge of murder on Friday.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the offence was committed at about 2.30 pm at the accused residence in 3, Tiemo Street, Egbeda, on May 5, adding that the accused had beaten his wife Ronke Shonde, 37, to death in their residence.

Suspected militants blow up Escravos gas pipeline in Delta


Suspected Niger Delta militants on Friday launched a fresh attack on a gas pipeline in Warri, Delta State.
According to TheCable, the suspected militants blew up a section of the Escravos gas trunkline behind salvation city, near Ogbe-Ijoh in Warri South West local government area of the state.

The Second girl rescued is not one of the missing 218 Chibok school girls


The 2nd girl, Serah Luka, who was rescued by the Nigeria Military yesterday, is not one of the 218 students of the Government Girls College Chibok who were abducted by Boko Haram members on April 14th 2014, The Associated Press reports. Army spokesman Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman in a statement he released yesterday announcing her rescue, said Sarah is number 157 on the list of 218 missing Chibok school girls However, 

This seem not to be correct as a Chibok community leader Pogu Bitrus told The Associated Press that Number 157 on their list had a different name.

Benue state governor visits home of his SSA assassinated this morning

Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, visited the house of his Senior Special Assistant on Security, Denen Igbana who was assassinated by unknown gunmen at his residence at Tion Sha district of Makurdi in the early hours of today.

Mandy is a drunk, she demanded N50,000 from me after one night – TVC reporter, Fakile claims .


A presenter on Television Continental, TVC, Wale Fakile has explained what transpired between him and his estranged girlfriend, Mandy Isaac.
We reported that Fakile was arrested after his supposed girlfriend took to her social media page to report how the former reportedly beat her to stupor after a squabble.


However, Fakile in a letter  averred that their relationship had never been stable.
According to him, their relationship ended in June 2015 but they reunited again in December the same year.

Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, has warned fraudsters to stop using his name to extort money from Nigerians in their bid get detained persons released.
This is contained in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), by EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren in Abuja on Thursday.
According to the statement, “It has come to the knowledge of the EFCC that some persons have been using the name of its Chairman fraudulently.’’
It said the fraudsters also claimed that they had his permission to ask for payments to secure the release of suspects under investigation by the commission.

Governor Ortom’s aide assassinated in Benue

Some yet to be identified gunmen have shot dead the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Benue State on Security Matters, Hon Igbana Denen.
It was gathered that the gunmen invaded his house around 2:30am and shot him dead.
